Why Cite Your Sources?

Avoiding Plagiarism

Citing the sources you use to write a paper is not just a matter of getting a good grade. It's also about giving other researchers credit for their ideas and allowing your readers to see what sources you have engaged with. Most importantly, failing to cite your sources properly violates the ethics of scholarship and St. Norbert's commitment to academic integrity.  For more details on what constitutes plagiarism, see St. Norbert College's policies on Academic Dishonesty.
